k9kuddlers.com was launched on November 1, 2008 by its founder, Marsha Hostetler, after discovering an ever-growing demand for a dog bed she originally made for her little chihuahua. She had shared pictures of that bed with some online friends and soon found herself filling more and more requests to make beds for them.
In making the beds for others, Marsha's love of animals and "dog first" attitude shows as pure TLC that she puts into each and every one she makes. "I didn't start off with the idea of doing this as a business," Marsha says, "but I love making the beds knowing that some little dog will curl up inside it. The pictures and comments I get back from my customers are priceless."
Hi, my name is Marsha. To tell you the story of how the K9 Kuddler came about, I need to share with you how my friend got me started making these dog beds - he's a little cream colored Chihuahua named Toby.
The picture you see here is the first one sent me by the breeder. His little face stole my heart and he's had it ever since!
As I started to get ready for his arrival, I wanted to buy him all the essentials including the perfect bed, but could not find the one I wanted anywhere. So I decided to make one myself. I had noticed "sack" style snugglers on the market and thought it would be neat to incorporate that into a bed, so I bought some soft, light blue fleece and made my first bed. Toby loved it and crawled under the blanket immediately. Great! Perfect! Happy dog = happy Mom, but then I washed it, and because the stuffing was permanently sewn in, it came out a little lumpy. I quickly saw the benefit of making a removable pillow cover that could be washed separately. Now, not only was Toby living in the lap of luxury, but I was happy, too.
A few friends heard about my efforts and asked me to make beds for their little companions. That's when the fun began - colorful patterns, reports of happy dogs, more orders.... and the K9 Kuddler was born!
I hope you have fun looking around my site and checking out the available patterns. I offer a no-risk money back quarantee, so why not try one out - your little one will thank you. And if you can't find a pattern that quite suits you... well, I take requests, too!
Thanks for visiting,
Marsha
